So Puzzle has been a member of the Pies' household for almost a week, and has added a layer of joy that has not previously been there. I mean seriously, what better then having a puppy great you with unabashed joy?
Okay, having your four year old great you with unabashed joy beats the puppy any day.... but Puzzle is a good second!
He is doing very well with crate training, sleeping for seven hours at night before we take him out. I wonder if he could go longer? He is not crying when I go down to let him out. It's just a convenient time to let him out before we go to work. We have a friend coming in twice a day to let him out also. Now house breaking, that is another story! He consistentlyhas one accident per day. Not his fault... I'm still learning his signals.
He is doing okay with Bekah. She gets upset a lot because he wants to play with her (in a puppy way) and she just wants to do whatever she wants. This has been a hard experience for her because she is having to learn responsibility, for the puppy, for her possessions (if she doesn't want them chewed up), and generally taking on more roles at home. Not something she was looking forward to. She wanted a puppy.... but didn't realize the level of work that went with one. Who could blame her though. She is four after all, and has been an only child with Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa all doting on her every need.
